Keep The Recipe ("KTR," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information. By using KTR, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information you provide directly:

• Name and email address (account creation)
• Password (stored encrypted)
• Phone number (if you opt into SMS notifications)
• Health and dietary profile selections (e.g. Gluten Free, GLP-1 Supportive, Low Sodium)
• Recipes you save or import

Information collected automatically:

• Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of access)
• Device information
• Usage data (recipes saved, adaptations run, creators followed, features used)
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies

Information from third parties:

• Recipe content indexed from third-party websites and creator feeds
• Creator profile information from YouTube, Substack, and Instagram (public data only)

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the KTR service
• Generate personalized AI-powered recipe adaptations based on your health profile
• Curate your recipe feed based on creators you follow
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• Send SMS notifications if you have opted in
• Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
• Respond to your support inquiries
• Monitor and analyze usage to improve the platform
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your health profile information for advertising purposes. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

You may provide sensitive health and dietary information as part of your profile. This information is used exclusively to personalize your recipe adaptations and feed. It is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for commercial purposes.

We treat health profile data with heightened care and limit access to it within our systems to what is necessary to provide the service.

We may share your information with:

Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate KTR, including Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Twilio (SMS). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.

Legal compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights and safety of KTR, our users, or the public.

Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes.

KTR uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect the functionality of the service.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, access controls, and secure credential storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

KTR is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

KTR is operated from Canada. If you are accessing the service from outside Canada, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in Canada or other countries where our service providers operate. By using KTR, you consent to this transfer.

KTR may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
